Irvine & District Snooker League Cup Week 3/ Consolation Cup Week 2

Monday night (14th Oct) saw the deciding matches of both the League Cup and Consolation Cup played out.

League Cup 2nd Semi Final , Nonny Pool Boys versus Baize of Glory ,the winners to face Lucky Break , who had already qualified last week , on finals day 1st June 2025.

A very tightly contested match started with Warren Fullerton of Baize of Glory winning 2-1 against Jamie Lynn, taking the 3rd frame on the final black.

Nonny Pool Boys bounced back in style when Geo Edgar soundly beat Stephen Shaw 3-0 to put Nonny Pool Boys 4-2 ahead, Geo scored the nights only 30+ break with a 32 break.

Baize of Glory's Sophie Nix had a fabulous 2-1 win over Gary McLaughlin to close the gap to only 1 frame , Gary sneaking the third frame on the black.

It all came down to the last match where Colin Wiggins defeated Declyn Hood 3-0 in 3 close frames to put the Baize of Glory into the final , with a score of 7-5.

Consolation Cup Semi Finals , with both of last week's Semi Finals finishing in a tied score of 6-6 , a play off deciding frame was required in both matches.

Sam McDonald saw off Potting Bowlers Derek Muir to put his team Cuddles into the final , giving them the chance to retain the trophy they won last year.

The second play off frame was between Nonny Bashers Callum McKinnon who cam out on top against You've Been Framed Joe Ballantyne to put the Nonny Bashers into the Final.

A great achievement for Nonny Bashers as League newcomers this season.

Both Cup Competitions were very competitive with 5 of the 9 matches needing a play off frame to decide the outcome. There were 15 breaks of 30+ in the 9 matches , a great start to the 30+ breaks list.

Good Luck to all teams and players for next Monday when the League kicks off with 12 participating teams as we look forward to another cracking season of the Irvine & District Snooker League.

Welcome to the League , Nonny Bashers and The Rack Pack , hope you enjoy the experience.
