1 Frame Challenge Report

Monday night saw the opening group stage of our yearly 1 Frame Challenge Competition

32 players in 6 groups were whittled down to 20 qualifiers for the next group stage to be played on Monday 14th April.

Group A (5 players - 3 qualifiers) was controlled by Graeme Russell who was undefeated in his 4 matches , Andy Bilby and James Higgins also qualified from the group.

Group B (6 players - 4 qualifiers) was won by Geo Edgar who won 4 of his 5 matches and had 5 breaks of 30+ , Stephen Shaw , David Cowan and Willie Gelliburn also qualified from the group

Group C (6 players - 4 qualifiers)  finished in a 3 way tie between David Mitchell , Jamie Lynn and Robert Rutherford, they were joined by Sam McDonald in qualifying by virtue of a better head to head record
against the remaining players in the group

Group D (6 players - 4 qualifiers) was won by Adam Boyd who was joined in the next group stage by Christian Gibson , Brian McLevy and Stewart Garrick who were all tied for second place

Group E (4 players - 2 qualifiers) was won by Graham McQuaid who was undefeated in this 4 man group , Robin Dunlop finished second to make the next group stage.

Group F (5 players - 3 qualifiers) was tied by Chris Giffney and Craig Reid with Graeme Innes qualifying in 3rd place

Players are asked to be at the venue around 7.00 pm with the draw being made at 7.15. Any player not present at 7.15 will be omitted from the draw. The format will be 4 groups of 5 with the top 2 in each group qualifying for the last eight to be played on finals day on Sunday 1st June.
