Week 13 , League Week 10 Review

League matches resume after Xmas break , Aces hosted Cuddles at Ardrossan Unionist Club and quickly went 4-2 ahead when Graeme Innes defeated Stewart Garrick 3-0 with breaks of 55, 48 and 36. Conor Davidson brought Cuddles back into the game with a 2-1 win with Kris Ballantyne putting Cuddles in front with a dominant 3-0 win over Ian Reid. Ian Craig earned Aces the draw with a 2-1 win over Nicky Carr , Nicky hitting a nice break of 47.

Baize of Glory and Lucky Break also ended in a 6-6 draw. Lucky Break stormed into a 5-1 lead with Graeme Dick winning 3-0 and Steven Stamp winning 2-1 , Steven had a 49 break whilst his opponent Stephen Shaw had a 32 break. Sophie Nix of Baize of Glory had a very good 3-0 win over Graham McQuaid before Warren Fullerton earned the draw for Baize of Glory in a 2-1 win over Jatinder Singh , Warren having a 43 break and Jatinder a 34 break

Century continued their winning run with a close 7-5 win over You've Been Framed. Cameron Armstrong of Century had a 30 break in his 2-1 win but Craig McPherson brought YBF level with his first win of the season. Leo Moffat and Paul Doherty both won 2-1 to give Century the victory and their 3rd win in their last 4 matches.

Chalk is Cheap winless run goes on following an 8-4 defeat at the hands of Touching Cloth. The match started off well for Chalk is Cheap with Gerry Pendleton securing a very good 3-0 win over the Xmas Handicap winner Robin Dunlop. David Cowan of Touching Cloth levelled the match with a 3-0 win of his own over Tony Bernie. Touching Cloth then took control of the match with Brian McLevy winning 2-1 and David Mitchell winning 3-0 including an excellent 71 break , this being David's second 70+ break of the season. Well played David.

Nonny Pool Boys increased their lead at the top of the table to 4 points with an 8-4 win over Potting Bowlers. The Pool Boys raced 5-1 ahead when Declyn Hood beat William Gelliburn 3-0 , courtesy of 3 black ball games. Gary McLaughlin had a 33 break in his 2-1 win over Robbie Robinson. Ian Boyd gave Potting Bowlers some hope with a very good 3-0 win over Jamie Lynn , this was Ian's first 3-0 win of the season. Geo Edgar stopped the Potting Bowler's comeback hitting breaks of 59 and 38 in his 3-0 win. Geo remains top of the Individual Player Stats with 24 frame wins out of 30.

Nonny Bashers earned their second win of the season with a 9-3 win over The Rack Pack. James Higgins being the star man again with a fine 3-0 win over Adam Boyd , this win giving James an excellent 11 frames won with 1 frame loss in his last 4 matches. A big handicap cut of minus ten James !!  Calvin Palmer had given the Rack Pack a 2-1 lead but John Lundie squared the match with his 2-1 win. Kris Robertson was given a 3-0 win when The Rack Pack couldn't field a fourth player.

The League enters a pivotal point of the season over the next two weeks when League leaders Nonny Pool Boys face closest challengers Lucky Break twice in a double header , victory in both matches could put Nonny Pool Boys out of sight in the fight for the title. Aces and Baize of Glory are waiting in the wings for any slip ups from any of the top two sides. Interesting couple of weeks ahead !!
