Nonny Pool Boys win top of League clash

The highly anticipated top of the League clash between Baize of Glory and Nonny Pool boys took place on Monday night (4th Nov) with Nonny Pool Boys coming out on top with an 8-4 win.

Sophie Nix got Baize of Glory off to the perfect start with a 2-1 win including a nice 32 break. Gary McLaughlin struck back also with a 2-1 win to level the match at 3-3. The expected fireworks failed to materialise as the Baize of Glory challenge faltered like a damp squib at a firework display as Jamie Lynn won 2-1 ( two black ball frames ) for Nonny Pool Boys against Colin Wiggins before Geo Edgar , also of Nonny Pool Boys, defeated Warren Fullerton 3-0 limiting Warren to a measly 10 points in the first two frames with Warren conceding the third and final frame.

This result leaves Nonny Pool Boys as the only team with a 100% record and the only undefeated team in the League to date.

You've Been Framed went joint second with a solid 9-3 win over Nonny Bashers who are now the only team without a win in the League. Joe Ballantyne and Chris Byrne again both 3-0 winners for YBF. Joe Herring of Nonny Bashers winning his match 2-1.

Aces and Lucky Break fought out a 6-6 draw with Graham McQuaid bringing Lucky Break back into the match winning 3-0 after Allan Duffy and Graeme Innes (30 break ) had put Aces 4-2 in front with Graeme Dick of Lucky Break also having a 39 break.. Ian Craig of Aces squared the match winning 2-1 with a break of 36.

Graham McQuaid now leads the individual player stats for League matches with 8 wins out of 9 frames played.

The Century and Cuddles match also resulted in a 6-6 draw , John Baxter and Paul Doherty had Century ahead 4-2 and Cameron Armstrong putting them further in front at 6-3. Stewart Garrick of Cuddles won his game 3-0 to tie the match at 6-6. Both teams now sitting middle of the League Table on 3 points.

Potting Bowlers slipped down from 3rd place to 9th place following an 8-4 defeat to Touching Cloth. All 4 players of Touching Cloth ( David Cowan ,Robin Dunlop, David Mitchell and Brian McLevy) winning 2-1 to take them up to 3rd place in the League just ahead of another 4 teams also on 3 points.

Last match of the evening involved The Rack Pack and Chalk is Cheap with the latter storming to their first win in the League this season with a thumping 10-2 win. Victor Obonyo and Scott Davidson of Chalk is Cheap both winning their first ever frames in the League with a 2-1 win and 3-0 win respectively. Congrats to both players !!! . Disappointing result for The Rack Pack after last weeks excellent victory and they will be looking for better next week when they take on the high flying You've Been Framed.

Nonny Pool Boys will be hoping to extend their lead at the top next week when they entertain Cuddles at home. Where on the other hand Nonny Bashers will want to kick start their season when they take on Chalk is Cheap and looking to secure their first League match win.
